Joseph originally created a natural mosquito repelling formula in 1998 when his unquenchable desire for outdoor adventures was hampered by the constant need to deal with blood sucking mosquitoes. His passion for adventure combined with a long-held dream to help humanity finally came together 6 years later, when he created the new and improved proprietary formula for Bug Bam in 2004 and launched the Bug Bam brand of mosquito repelling products. The flagship product – the Bug Bam mosquito repelling wristband - is always on his wrist.
Apart from managing the day-to-day operations as President, Joseph is focused on bringing public awareness to the problems created by mosquito-transmitted diseases. Equal parts entrepreneur and humanitarian, Joseph’s commitment to social responsibility is not just a philosophy -- it is the cornerstone of Bug Bam’s day-to-day business strategy. Joseph’s focus is continually building mutually successful partner and affiliate distribution strategies, improving the product range and effectiveness, and most importantly, cultivating consumer enthusiasm for Bug Bam’s products.
As a serial entrepreneur - and with a head full of ideas - Joseph started his first company (a graphic design business) at just 18 years of age. Several companies later, Joseph found himself in location based entertainment with the IMAX Corporation, then later developed and launched (with Kodak and Compaq) a range of unique and powerful tools for global, online collaboration during the post-production process that were utilized by entertainment industry giants Sony, Universal, Warner Bros., Disney, Twentieth Century Fox, Dreamworks and Paramount.
Beyond the scope of his impressive professional achievements in the business world, Joseph is also an accomplished musician, swimmer and graphic designer. At age 14 he survived an attack in Queensland, Australia by the deadly Blue Ringed Octopus (for which there is no anti-venom) and when Joseph isn’t turning the world on its head with his passion for business and the outdoors he can be found today travelling the world with his friends and family or swimming (a long way) in any one of the seven seas!
